Wiki

A wiki is a site in which content is written collaboratively so that anyone with access to the internet can edit, add or modify the information that is provided by the wiki (UWI, n.d.).

Objectives

The wiki site chosen is the Kidzsearch Encyclopedia. The objectives of the website are: to be a reliable information resource for parents and children; and to provide a safe environment where children can do research and be provided with age appropriate content safe from inappropriate material that could be found on the internet.

User friendliness and inherent features

The wiki is very easy to navigate and a search box is made available on each page, which provides the ability to search for content on the site from any page. The site has a very large amount of content which has been written to be easy for children to digest. Only authorized persons can edit content on the wiki.

Ways it could be improved

To improve the wiki I would add more interactive activities to engage the children. I would also add video content for the children.
