The Internet as a tool for Education

Learning is a process, not a product. Learning is a change in knowledge, beliefs, behaviors or attitudes. Learning is not something done to students, but something that students themselves do (Center for Instructional Development & Distance Education, 2010).
I disagree with the statement – “Using the Internet as a teaching tool is much more important than using it as a learning tool”. I think that the statement is inaccurate because learning and teaching are complimentary. If one is learning someone or something must be facilitating it through the process of teaching. To effectively incorporate a teaching tool a teacher must firstly examine and identify their teaching style. Then they must secondly assess their students preferred learning styles (Schmidt & Brown, 2004). In my opinion, teaching and learning go hand in hand and cannot be separated from each other.
